Dear Participants,
As we move into the final phase of the Applied Health Informatics Certificate Program, I want to thank those who have remained consistently engaged and encourage everyone to finish the program with the same enthusiasm with which they began.
There has been a noticeable decline in participation in discussion forums and an increase in late or missing assignments, particularly in the Public Health Informatics & Global Population Health and Data Security, Privacy & Ethics courses. There are already several weeks of content for these courses on Moodle and not much engagement from you.
While I understand that balancing work, family, and a six-month program can be challenging, active participation and timely completion of coursework are essential expectations of this graduate-level certificate program. We must also be cognizant that this is a fully sponsored program, supported by instructors who are experts in their respective fields, therefore we expect you to meet the obligations set out in your applications.
Please remember that to successfully complete this program, you must:

Score a minimum of 80% in each course.

Successfully complete all six core courses and one elective course.

Continuously engage throughout the course, as missing assignments and/or discussion activities affect your course grades and may result in failing the course.
A score below 80% in a course constitutes a failure in that course, regardless of performance in other courses.
If you are behind in any course, I strongly encourage you to catch up now. Do not wait until the end of the course, when multiple overdue assignments become much more difficult to complete.
Please also note that requests for submission extensions must be made directly to the course instructor, who has the sole discretion for the approval of any extension, late submission, or grade penalty.
This program was designed to develop health informatics leaders who can apply their knowledge to strengthen healthcare systems in their organizations and communities. Achieving that goal requires consistent engagement, thoughtful participation, and a commitment to academic excellence.
You have already invested significant time and effort in this journey. I encourage each of you to stay engaged, complete all required work, participate actively in discussions, and finish the program strong. We believe in your ability to succeed, and our faculty remain committed to supporting you every step of the way.
