Hello everyone,

My name is Khadijah Jimoh, and I am based in Lagos, Nigeria. I am a Registered Nurse and currently work as a Data Quality Manager for an oncology clinical trial, supporting health research and program implementation. My role focuses on ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and reliability of health data, as well as strengthening data systems to support effective decision-making.

As a research nurse, I have experience in clinical research, data collection, REDCap management, and statistical analysis. This dual perspective has given me a strong understanding of both patient care and the importance of high-quality data in improving health outcomes.

I am particularly interested in developing practical digital health solutions, such as mobile applications, and improved electronic data capture systems, to address data quality challenges and support better clinical decision-making.

I am especially interested in the Data & Health Systems (DHS) track because it aligns with my goal of strengthening health systems through improved data governance, system integration, and the use of digital tools.

One key challenge I see in my current health system is the limited ability to leverage data collected from Electronic Health Records (EHRs) for research and for developing practical digital tools that can support delivery of efficient care.

From this program, I hope to gain hands-on skills in designing and implementing digital health solutions, improve my ability to build efficient data systems, and learn how to apply informatics tools to solve real-world healthcare challenges in low-resource settings.

I look forward to learning from and collaborating with everyone in this cohort.

Hi khadijah,

It’s great to meet you! I noticed that we both have a background in healthcare, and I can really relate to your experience working in a clinical setting. It’s interesting how our day to day work exposes us to the gaps in data management and healthcare systems.

I’m curious, have you had any experience using electronic health records or digital tools in your workplace? If yes, how effective have they been?

I think it would be great if we could collaborate on ideas around improving patient data systems, especially in low resource settings. I’m really interested in solutions that can make documentation and information sharing more efficient.

Hi Khadijah,

Love the intro. I resonate with you too... Better collection and storage of healthcare data will improve a lot of things as we know it.

Looking forward to connecting further.
