My name is Ernest Oviosun,

I am a Medical Laboratory Scientist (Histopathology) at the Department of Morbid Anatomy and Forensic Medicine, OAUTHC.

I am also a programmer and currently building a histopathology Laboratory management system for quality workflow, monitoring and accountability. And also a programmed system to monitor reagents inventory, usage and expiration for effective management in patient care.

I, with several others from MSKCC developed a Synoptic template for breast cancer cases.

I am glad to be here to learn, unlearn and relearn.

Welcome, Ernest - It’s great to have you in the course.
Your work building a histopathology laboratory management system is impressive and highly relevant to this program. Just as much was your input in developing the synoptic breast cancer reporting template. I was on that project from the MSK side and you did good. We look forward to learning from your technical and clinical insights as you learn, unlearn, and relearn with the cohort.

Hello Ernest,

I am from a medical  laboratory background too. Its indeed interesting to read about how you are applying your programming skills to build different management systems, including for reagent inventory. I would like to know more about these- these are greatly needed in medical labs. I have learnt some programming, but mostly R, python and command line , for my masters in Bioinformatics. Hopefully we can talk more of these soon.
