Hello Everyone,
First of all, I must say its a great opportunity for me to be in the company of great minds and to learn from you all.
I go by the name Olumide Adeniyi and I work as an Obstetrician and Gynaecologist at the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospitals Complex and also lecture at the University (which by the way is Africa's most beautiful campus!)
My background is clinical though I have a soft spot for information technology and if I had not pursued medicine, i would definitely have been computer scientist and programmer. I have observed a little how the integration of information technology and medicine has led to massive improvement in health care and outcomes as well as enhance operational efficiencies which is lacking in many LMICs and is one of the reason i applied for this course. I'm looking forward to gaining practical experience from this course on how to improve our records and data management systems which I believe will drastically improve our operations.
Honestly, I'm still undecided about the track to pursue but probably the DHS. I believe the next few days/weeks will clarify the track for me. I'm happy to meet, interact and engage with you all and our faculties.
