I hope this course will help me better understand how the nursing process, as a framework for nursing practice, can be effectively implemented within Electronic Health Records (EHRs). Across many healthcare settings, EHRs appear to be designed primarily around nurses’ dependent functions, with limited support for nurses to independently assess patients, plan their care, implement interventions, and evaluate outcomes.
I hope to learn how EHRs can better support the nursing process and accurately capture the full scope of nurses’ independent practice.
